thankful

I am thankful for Tate's quirky personality.
There are a ton of things about Tate to be thankful for- she is a dream child so far. But my favorite thing and what I am most thankful for is her quirky personality. One thing in particular that took us outside a lot this past summer and kept her entertained for hours is her rock collection. Yes, a rock collection. Tate has an odd bond with rocks. I don't know where it came from, or why she likes them so much, but she does. Our daily walks consisted of collecting all sorts (and sizes) of rocks from our neighbors. She even knew the "good rock houses" where she could always count on finding one. At first it started out with her tricycle. She would "ride" her trike down the sidewalk, pick up a few rocks on the way and (get this).... put them on her trike seat and then proceed to sit on them for the remainder of the walk to make sure she didn't lose any. Of course this would lead to abnormally long walks, as every 2 feet or so one would fall off and she'd have to start all over again... putting all the rocks on her seat and then trying to sit on them without knocking any over. After a few weeks she realized this was too hard, so we started taking her wagon on walks. We'd walk to end of the street (which should take about 2 minutes, but it ends up taking an hour), she'd carefully decide which ones were special enough to make it in her wagon and then we'd move on to the next house. This literally happened EVERY day in the summer. She even got to the point where she gave her rocks walks in the baby stroller! Yes, we'd walk down the street with her baby stroller- no doll inside, just rocks. She straps them in and everything!

Here she is so excited to be posing with her rocks

Oh, I love her!

  3. She is really cute. And sadly, I have a sneeking suspicion that our house probably was a "good rock" house...
