edward... oh my!

posted on: 11.25.2008

Let me just say it again... Oh my!!! I just got back from seeing Twilight with some friends and I can't go to sleep. Mostly I can't stop dreaming of Edward (Wyatt already knows of this obsession, so he shouldn't be surprised). I've been reading all your blog entries about this very movie, so I feel like I knew what to expect going into it. I knew not to have too high of expectations and I knew that Edward would grow on me. He did... very quickly in fact. Of course he had his awkward moments like the tree jumping, (that was just embarrassing), and mean growly faces, BUT I couldn't get over the pure beauty of his perfectly chissled face. I was practically drooling in my seat. Honestly, I don't want to embarrass myself so I'm going to stop there...

This was the scene where my utter commitment to all things Edward started. If you've seen it you know what I mean... he drives up in his hot car, gets out in his old school Ray Bans, walks over (oh, so cooly) to let Bella out and then puts his arm around her like "yeah, this is my girl". He got me there. I was hooked. I'm still hooked. HOT. My only complaint was that there was not nearly enough action!! I was waiting for a big makeout scene and hoping Edward would at least take some clothes off!

My opinion of the other characters... which I hardly noticed:)!

Bella... really liked. She's the classic unconventional beauty

Edward.... yum. perfect. dreamy. hot. perfect. hot. perfect. hot

Carlisle... HATED. Such a bad choice. Too young and ugly. I was thinking more Brad Pitt-ish

Esme.... LOVED. Perfect choice and just how I'd imagined

Alice.... good, cute, that's all

Emmett.... same as Alice

Jasper... what the Edward Scissor hands!! He looked strung out the whole time.

Rosalie... not pretty enough, forgettable.

Jacob... oh what a disappointment. I was picturing Jacob to be really hot and I could not get over his long flowy hair and baby face. I wanted shoulder length straight hair and a more chissled face. His teeth were nice though.

James... perfect. Creepy and will give me nightmares!

Victoria... good choice. Although she may be too pretty for the role.

What are your thoughts? ps- Wy, you know you're still my #1 guy!

  3. Okay, I am crying I am laughing so hard.

THAT SCENE!!! I know exactly which one you are talking about & I remembering thinking to myself "I WISH THAT WAS ME!" I am so glad you agree with me! He is sooooooooooooo sexy, I am still trying to recover.

And, I am the exact same way! Edward overshadowed everything for me. Notice that my entire post about the movie is just about me wanting to rip his clothes off & nothing else. I would see it 10 more times just to lust after him some more. My only regret was that there wasn't more ACTION. It better happen in the next movie.

AHHH! I am still laughing. We are the same. I just LOVE YOU. I could go on, but I'll stop now.

  7. PS...

Jacob was totally dissapointing. I hope they will make him better in the next one. He grows up in the 2nd book, remember?

Is it just me, or do we have one brain?

  9. I felt EXACTLY the same way about all the characters!!! I did like Victoria though, just because all vampires are supposed to be attractive. I love Edward, and the school scene was so hot. Yumm... I HATED Carlisle, his makeup and hair were horrendous.

  14. I completely agree. I saw the movie last night with Daniel and some friends. I was so hesitant to see the movie because I loved the book SO much. And everytime I'd see a preview I would want to see the movie less and less. It didn't seem to be how I pictured it. Anyway, I am so happy I saw it. It's almost embarrassing how much I liked it. From the moment it began I honestly could not stop smiling. I thought it went by way too fast, I could have watched it over and over again. I had to keep saying to myself, Edward is not real! I LOVED it and cannot wait for the next one to come out. My biggest disapointment was Jacob. I really liked Jacob in the books and thought of him as taller, stronger, cuter and different hair. I hated his hair! I loved your thoughts on everything. Edward's a babe.

  15. Couln't agree more!! I loved it. How about the scene in the bedroom and how sexy was he at the restaurant when they went to dinner. I will go see it again with you any day!

  16. Ok so i really did not like the movie very much the first time I saw it...yes I have seen it twice now. I really loved Bella. I felt it was a good choice! She did an awesome job. As for Edward...well, he just is not my ideal Edward. At first I thought he did a horrible job. The second time around, not only did Edward totally grow on me, but I love the movie so much more the second time. I do like Edward so much more...my I like my imagined Edward so much more. Want to see it again? I do!

And I laughed so hard every time I saw Jasper!

  17. I meant that I like my imagined Edward so much more. That really did not make sense with a typo!

But I do have to admit that I cannot stop thinking about him. After all, he is EDWARD!

  19. I totally agree with a lot that you said. There were a few scenes that were just so dang funny because they were so awkward. And what the crap was up with Jasper lol! Aren't you so glad you went in with no expectations!?! Didn't make it that much better! I know exactly which scene you are talking about and yes I was so loving that moment!

  21. SAW IT AGAIN LAST NIGHT!

    Here is my take:

    -the cheesy seemed even cheesier
    &
    -the sexy seemed even sexier.

    Still in love!

  22. Ps...

    Good luck taking Wyatt!

Greg would hate that movie with the passion of a 1000 burning suns.

  23. Even though I'm not (I know, don't judge me) twihard...the movie was still fun! It was kinda nice going in w/ no expectations of the charachters since I only got a little more than 1/2 way thru it...I'm a realist ok! lol! I will say Edward was so much sexier in the movie, especially when he kissed Bella on the neck...ok...wowee! Well I may have to finish now! But please, no more crazy eyes! ;) Happy Thanksgiving! xoxo

  25. Ok...so I am totally obsessed and have been since the first time I saw the movie. I was ALWAYS deeply infatuated with Edward (duh!) and was so surpised at how much I enjoyed the other characters as well. I do have to disagree though, I felt that Carlisle was a STRONG character and a great choice. Jacob- ehhh he grew on me more and more each time, and Im actually really happy with the pick. James I thought was too pretty boy so I wasnt that happy with their choice on that one. Loved Charlie and Bellas chemistry together! They were awkward cute in that dad/daughter kinda way. As for the scene where you lost it...I do agree...Between the dominance of that scene, mixed with the masculinity of the scene where he saves her from those low lives and gets out of the car and tells bella to get in the car mmmmm yes! and the emotion of making sure she is safe, and standing up to his family for her! Totally in love. Lastly, ONE of my favorite lines from the movie is
Edward: "What were you expecting? Dungeons, coffins, and moats?
    Bella: No, Not moats...
Edward: (with a sly smile and quiet chuckle) not moats.
